LEGATION ROYALE DES PAYS BAS.
PEKING. 5 Februari 1920.
Dear Wilzer,
The following is the contents of a letter from
Sir John Jordan, which I received today:-
"Referring to my letter of the 27th ultimo, I am glad to be able to inform you that the Governor of Hong- kong has been authorised to release Wilzer's money provided that I can vouch for his friendly attitude and can confirm his statement that he has been exempted from repatriation. These assurances I have given and I trust therefore that the release will be made in the near future".
I think I can congratulate you with this result.
I am rather sceptical as to the results of the petition of the four German ex-Commissioners, which I am forwarding to-
day.
This involves a question of principle which I am afraid will be difficult for the British to concede.
With kind regards, believe me,
Yours sincerely,
(Sgd) W. J. OUDENDE JK.
